Partnerships
Working with others, on our terms. Urapuntja has a long record of partnerships and research, always with community consent and for community benefit.
How we partner
Community control shapes how we work with others. Partnerships and research at Urapuntja follow simple principles:
- Community consent first. Nothing about us without us.
- Benefit flows back. Research and projects must leave the community stronger, with skills, jobs, evidence and resources.
- Our data, our story. Information about our community belongs to our community (Indigenous data sovereignty). We decide what is collected and how it is used.
- Long relationships. We value partners who stay.
Our history includes important research partnerships, including work showing why homelands living and community control lead to better health. That evidence has shaped policy well beyond Utopia.
